Well, we go round and round on this subject. The old draconian dialectic does not always work that well.

Given that there is an issue that is going to get even more volatile and probably more chauvinist, antiforeigner...that is the outsourcing of jobs; given that a good percentage of the country is into some very backward notions of religion and many of those probably think Bush was annoited President by God, given the homophobia of a great part of the country, which is going to be fanned by the Republicans, given the pervasive racism, DOES IT NECESSARILY FOLLOW that

putting the more reactionary Party into power will stir up a revolution or whatever? That of course may not be a sufficient reason to vote Democratic, but it is certainly something to think about when proposing that electing an ultra-reactionary would awaken the american people from their slumber. Could you entertain the idea that it might actually strengthen the reactionary tendencies in the country and embolden the neo-conservative crusaders?
