Failing that as Justin says, a bad lawyer is always better than no lawyer. Without further commentary on Ramsey Clarke's capabilities, he might be a bad lawyer in this situation just because he is such a lightning rod.

--actually he's stated elsewhere it is unlikely he would be the advocate as much as a consultant. if he was tried in Iraq, as it looks is likely to be the case, he would not be the lawyer in court since he doesn't speak arabic... though by the logic of the liberals on this list, the aclu should be condemned for defending the nazis in skokie, no? or exposed as 'fascists', eh? and who cares if the guy is given due process anyway...that's only for people we like. steve
