All the dictators put (or kept) in power by the u.s. over the last 50 years (of whom Sadaam was one) have been mass murderers. Sadaam differed from the other u.s. sponsored killers in that he _also_ initiated policies that made life better for those he didn't kill. For example, the position of women in Iraq. Medical care.

And of course he was a less efficient mass-murderer than was the troika of Kennedy-Johnson-Nixon.

The most popular teacher on the ISU campus (and the head of the political science department) has frequently made this double point about about the Iraq regime. No one has ever had hysterics over that.

Victors' Justice, _regardless_ of the facts in a given case, is despicable. An anti-war movement that did not oppose war-crimes trials for u.s. "enemies" would not be a movement of any importance.
