I think that should be small nations that have been colonised and continue to have to live with the consequences of that as well as under an imperialist dispensation.

Can't help thinking of places such as the Scandinavian countries which would be "large" only in comparison with the micro-nations. Or New Zealand which is large in terms of geographical spread, but hardly in population.
