Back in the 1990's, Borders employees had the discretion to order titles for the areas they stocked. I actually doubled the size of an entire department.
But they don't do that anymore. Category management rules.
Borders has also seen the most active union organizing activity of any national retailer in the past ten years, if that's any consolation. In any case, indie or corporate, they all bust unions.
