That may be true as an abstract idea, but would you trust these sons-of-bitches running the show in Washington today? With anything, much less a draft? If I were up to me I wouldn't let these freaks issue license plates for cars, much less give them the power to enforce conscription. Can you imagine today's Republicans running a draft that wouldn't somehow exempt rich kids? I get the shivers just thinking about it and my tewlve-year-old son. If you check out thomas.loc.gov you'll see that Senate Bill 89 was sponsored by Democrat Fritz Hollings, so I'm guessing with this ultra-partisan Congress and President at least that version of a draft is probably a non-starter, that's a relief. Anyway, even if Bush gets booted in November, so long as there's a chance that mob might ever get back into the White House, I'm 100% against any draft.
