Consciousness is no more than a network of neurons. That's all there is to it. Likewise a colour is a wavelength of light. Anything more you might believe there is to it, is merely down to the way your neural pathways are arranged.

--- When was the last time you ever saw a wavelength of light? You see red, green, blue, etc. You do not see wavelengths of light.

What you see, presumably, is a wavelength of light apprehended by your optic nerve, which transmits the stimulus to the brain, which results in the appearance of the color "red" or whatever -- in consciousness. Anything else is denying that you actually exist, which I don't think you mean to be doing.
