Don't watch the Tonight show, but Delong's blog posts the following Leno joke:
"President Bush has just one question for the American voters: Is the rich person you're working for better off now than they were 4 years ago?"
The fact that (a) Leno--milquetoast hack that he is-- actually told the joke and (b) the audience laughed actually gives me some hope. Regular people know when they're getting pissed on. For the most part, the American public does not consist of conservative wingnuts.
