Proliferation gets some attention in New Yorker or The Nation - but since Pakistanis are the main culprit, that does not sail very well among those lefties who profess US exceptionalism as the ultimate evil and cause of all world suffering.
Global warming gets some attention among wussy liberals and religious lefties (e.g. unitiarian universalists) - but since it requires changes in personal life styles - using less energy, consuming less - it is not very popular here.
