"Nothing America could have done would have provided al-Qaida and its new generation of cloned groups a better recruitment device than our unprovoked invasion of an oil-rich Arab country," Richard A. Clarke writes in "Against All Enemies."

Meanwhile, Kerry's busy skiing and protesting ignorance of this amazing new twist. Clarke is basically saying that Bush is acting to draw out more terrorism. This would comport with the theory that the Pentagon and the MI complex love this new enemy.

Kerry's refusal to swing at this creampuff softball undermines the claim that he's significantly different from Bush. I'm going to take Chomsky's advice that a small difference might matter, but I'm not doing so with a song in my heart. Our ruling class is now actively feeding us into a meat-grinder. The Kerrybot shows no signs of jamming the gears...
