According to the NY Post version of a Newsweek poll, large numbers of people are dismissing Clarke as "partisan" and "self-interested." So he may not be changing that many minds, at least at the popular level. It could mean more trouble for Bush with the ruling class, though, and if it does, the press could turn far more hostile.
