So you're a fan of tyranny with a socialist face? I can imagine saying that some particular socialist tyrannies were worth supporting, given the likely alternatives.

--Luke --- Most people in the former Soviet Union are very, very upset that the USSR no longer exists. That cuts across political boundaries: _everybody_ except hardcore nationalists (and Balts) think breaking up the Union was a bad bad bad thing, Communists, liberals, everybody. It was a catastrophe.

The post-Stalin USSR was not a tyranny. It was a mildly authoritarian, more-or-less benign one-party state.
