There was a segment on the HBO comedy series "Mr. Show" where the US plans
to blow up the moon. There's a huge propaganda campaign to sell Americans on
the idea, which of course includes a rightwing country star singing, against
a huge American flag backdrop, about how the moon has it comin' for messin'
with the US.

It's on the "Mr. Show" Third Season DVD box set, which contains a ton more
sharp satire and absurdity. Well worth owning or renting.
