The DP has no particular "Hold" on the left. What it has is a monopoly, along with the repubs, on the executive. --------------------------------------------------- ACTUALLY, both parties exercise a monopoly over all the state institutions, by which they certainly exercise a "hold" over the American political world, including most of the Left. Witness their cowardly obsequiety. -------------------------------------------------- Given this fact, in situations such as the present presidential election the question becomes solely about which choice presents the greatest degrees of manoeuvre for the left and its activists. -------------------------------------------------- Uh, 'manoeuvre'? Or did you mean 'manure'? Tell us about that while President Kerry relieves his bladder in your face. -------------------------------------------------- If Kerry wins by a slim margin the left (its electoral votes) becomes a key player. ---------------------------------------------------- Oh, puullleeaze, don't make me laugh! ACTUALLY, the "postGingrich" Congressional Far Right becomes the key player, seeing how the Dems don't have a chance in hell of gaining the majority, now do they? And you can't blame that on Nader, either, suckers.
At best, all the Left can do is unelect a President Kerry. In which case, why elect him in the first place? Unless this is some clever Machievellian scheme to "paralyze the system", in which case, why not just say so? If Bush wins the whole nature of the game shifts. The QUESTION is not about which candidate will give more goodies to the left, but rather, which President will pay a higher price for acting bellicose towards the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well certainly Kerry will pay a higher price - see above (loop ad infinitum, morons) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now this is the scenario that Yoshie refuses to engage only because Yoshie maintains that there is no difference. Say it as many times as you like but it does not make it so. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sheeesh, understand the difference between a difference in FUNCTION (admittedly a PoMo forbidden word, but fuck'em) and a difference in RESULT. But in fact there has been a difference in result, an ever RIGHTWARD difference over the last quarter century.
Remember when ther was nothing worse than Reagan? Well there was: GWBush. And after a Kerry Presidency, there'll be even something worse then the 'W'. Mark my words.
