1. It is a major help to keep europeans out of middle east (while Kerry promised to try seriously to involve them in the Iraq occupation with its "multilateralism", and he would had some chances to succeed);
2. Given the unique blend of ignorance, arrogance and fanatism of the Bush administration, its new mandate represents a major opportunity to stop US imperialism for the next 20 years, through a giant Vietnam in Iraq and exhausting not only the end of "deterrence" of military power of US, but also of its international legitimation (its "soft" power), while with Kerry this result would have been quite uncertain;
2a. Somebody thinks also that Dubya will have also some greater degree of freedom, included to retire unilaterally and fast if things worsen in Iraq (an "if" beyond any doubt).
2b. In any case Bush is the greatest chance to end US imperialism in the short term, exhausting its forces in impossible crusades, for its general incompetence and short term greed of its costituents.
3. Hopefully, about internal policy affairs, this experience could end that fake dogma according which the winner in advanced democracies is who conquer "the center" of political spectrum, so should induce democrats to think where/why they failed and change kind of candidate and agenda (hopefully looking for someone more popular/populist than ABB). (This hope does not seems supported by the first reactions in our center of the left opposition in Italy however).
Anyway, good luck, You will need it with patrioct act, imperial wars, the economy, the dollar, oil, and the rest. (and sorry for my bad english)
