slowly bringing myself to an acceptance of reality, and reading the postmortems online accordingly. as much as this list seems to be split on counterpunch's contributions to online political discourse, messers cockburn & st. clair's wrap-up is pretty much spo on, i'd say, and has this intriguing paragraph i find myself agreeing with -- wondering what the rest of you might think:

"Edwards added absolutely nothing to the ticket. At least Dan Quayle held Indiana back in 1988 and 2002. No one state in the south went into Kerry's column. Gore did better in Florida and West Virginia. Dick Gephardt would certainly have brought the Democratic ticket Missouri and probably Iowa and hence the White House."

thoughts?

Come on guys, get real. Get real, these guys knew where it was and even if it was gone before, which I doubt that it was, ask them the question, you’re tough reporters, ask them the question, who did you have there guarding that facility? Why the hell didn’t they know it was gone back when we went in? This makes me angry. My kid and a lot of other kids might get their ass over there and get blown up by these because of their civilian incompetence. And they’re talking about John Kerry was somehow unreasonable suggesting that this is incompetence, come on. If you think I’m upset, I am.
