My hat's off to you.  Even in a blue state like New York (where I am), it's 
hard not to feel marginalized as a leftist.  To not just maintain but openly 
advocate liberal views in the deep south shows real guts, IMO.  It is 
helpful to be reminded that people of integrity and open-mindedness do 
indeed exist everywhere, however hostile their environment.
