Scott McLemee ought to have added info about Wellesley's endowment to his article about the demise of _Women's Review of Books_: Wellesley, ranked "17th among U.S. colleges and universities in endowment per student," has "an endowment that is valued at more than $1 billion" ("The Wellesley Campaign," <http://www.wellesley.edu/Resources/why/wellesley.html>). Surely, the college could have eliminated the journal's debt and subsidized the publication of its future issues. -- Yoshie
