My theory is that the person in question is the last surviving member of some pre-human hominid species, perhaps related to the Homo Flores midget-people they found on that island. Discovered by the Socialist Workers Party in the 1960s in the course of a class-consciousness-raising mission among the Mountain Gorillas of Africa, they returned him to the United States and attempted to rear him as one of their own. This might explain the quasi-simian habit of throwing verbal feces at people when defeated in argumentation (i.e., often).
