The two parties (relying on their county machines) run US elections with widespread anomalies and possible fraud and have done so for a long time. Neither party would have it any other way. But at least the Repugs are smart enough to know that if they control the state governments of Florida and Texas, their lock on the White House is almost assured (except the Chimp proved even more unpopular and weak than even the best Repug planners could plan for). They were more than a bit worried about Ohio, so their solicitude there exceeded the Dems and paid off big time. Smart.

Advice to Dems: if you are going to continue to support an anomalous, possibly fraudulent 'system' for running elections, at least get better at your own anomalies and fraud so the rest of us don't have to listen to all that whining. I would suggest a movement to expel Florida and Texas from the union.
