I have nothing against ignorant students -- certainly not contempt for them. I just posted yesterday objecting to calling evangelicals and "fundies" (college students or otherwise) stupid or vicious. I don't think leftists should complain, ever, about the stupidity or ignorance of the population, including college students. Ignorance is an important civil right under capitalism.
In fact, contempt isn't at issue, but irritation with polished writers who engaging in this quibble.
