Just for the sake of argument: Renamo, Unita, the Contras, the Khmer Rouge, the Lord's Resistance Army? And about a dozen different factions in the Russia Revolution/Civil War?

And to continue as devil's advocate, just for the heck of it -- when it comes to a socialist country never gratuitously invading a neighbor, some people have argued that Tanzania's invasion of Uganda to remove Ida Amin was the mother of all humanitarian interventions, followed by Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia to remove the Khmer Rouge. Both were followed by fighting against insurgents in the countryside.
