And yet we're going to hear endlessly over the next few years about how important it is for "the left" to appeal to "moral values" of its own.
I wonder what a poll would show (if such a poll could even be devised) that asked americans whether they knew of the existence of "The Left"? (Defined as consisting of those who took seriously the Nation, Counterpunch, LBO, and UFPJ.)

What percentage of adult americans have heard of Solidarity?
What percentage of adult americans have heard of Freedom Road Socialist Organization?
What percentage of adult americans have heard of the lawsuit against Walmart?
What percentage of adult americans have heard of Amilcar Cabral?
Why should any adult american be bothered if he/she had not heard of any of the above?
On what grounds does anyone have any moral or political obligation to have heard of any of the above?
