wow! Jeb isn't well known. Personally, I think his numbers will go up as soon as they know who he is. Dunno. As for McCain... you would _think_ that his popularity would make him the obvious choice. It's just that, for the base of true believers, McCain isn't a real republican. I forget what they call them, the unrepublicans -- some mocking variations on an elephant. The activist, not necessarily evangelical, base of the party would just flip. They seem to despise the guy. These guys don't even like Bob Dole! But, I suspect that, if Shrubya and the powers that be give McCain the stamp of approval, he will be a shoe in. After all, the point is to win as a party, and as a minority voice in the party, the point is to use your position to get something for your votes. The non-evangelical base will zip it for the season and expect pay back in 2009.

You would think. Yet, I have been flabbergasted since 2000 when no one seemed to care that Shrubya was so quickly elected prezdinet after his father. Aside from which, I just think these mofos think they have stones and will do whatever they please. They seem to be doing whatever they please -- it's SOP for them. It's like they have mastered the art of a *blink* and a *shrug* and they just move on, unfazed by major blunders, exposes of lies, etc. etc.
