Would Would Not Unsure

% % % Florida Governor Jeb Bush

ALL voters 15 66 19

Republicans 28 49 23

. John McCain

ALL voters 48 36 16

Republicans 47 39 14

Doesn't this make McCain the obvious choice? He has already earned the approval of 48% of the respondents in the ALL voters category vs. Jeb's 15%. Dems show a definite preference for McCain over Jeb making him more easily electable. I have a feeling even many right-wingers might balk at another Bush in the White House so soon. Fear of a dynasty and all that. There has been a Bush in the White house for 16 out of the last 24 years. Three out of the last four presidencies have had a Bush in them. That might be hard for some far right people to take. Even if Repubs don't love McCain most of them would vote for him over just about any Dem. Giuliani might have a hard time getting past an east coat liberal appearance that would not sit well with many Repubs and McCain doesn't have that problem. What the hell do I know though? I though Kerry would win by 5% to 7%. What makes me maddest about Shrub winning is that he blew my perfect record of picking presidential winners.
