----- Original Message ----- From: "Doug Henwood" <dhenwood at panix.com> I think this line of complaint is more petit bourgeois than proletarian. It seems founded on an often undisclosed nostalgia for the 19th century world of proprietorships or small partnerships. And what a wonderful time that was!

Except there are far more members of the working class asking uncomfortable questions about corporate governance than the petty bourgeoisie [whoever they are these days!].

It makes no strategic sense to poopoo members of the working class for asking questions in their own vernacular that at least get all of us out of our settled cognitive frameworks. Enlarging the scope of questions so that critical intelligence is brought to bear and brings a sense of empowerment to challenge those who think the corporate/market nexus is just hunky dory should be welcomed. Asking for the optimal solution to MNC's in the space-time of a ten minute conversation trivializes working class learning strategies and defeats alliance building opportunities.
