Many of them are about practically the same topic, though, like abortion, and they become lengthy threads when some here object to them (e.g., recent threads on S/M and recurring threads on abortion).

Why, then, did you ask why I posted the essay by an Afghan lesbian, when you haven't asked the same question about other postings that came without any head- or footnote. I still don't understand what in your opinion makes stories about Mel Gibson and his praying fan, Viagra in China, the Lolita fashion subculture, etc. "self-evident" and an essay by an Afghan lesbian "non-self-evident."
