Rather weak U.S. jobs report this morning - employment up just 96,000 
in Sept and Aug revised down by 16,000. Benchmark revisions to March 
2004 data just +236,000 - below historical averages. Last report 
before the election has Bush presiding over a loss of almost 600,000 
jobs - the first minus sign since Hoover.

See all you conspiracists - the BLS ain't cooking the data (or 
adjusting the release calendar) for W!
