This is one of the many reasons 10-year olds are useful. My daughter 
pointed out to me that this week's New Yorker, which sports an american 
flag on the cover also shows the "shadow of a Klan figure" on the flag. 
Actually, the shadow is of the Abu Ghraib icon -- the person with the 
hood, on the box.

If anyone out there is as dense as me (why did they put the flag on the 
cover?), this explains it.
