I'd think that I understand why many decide to vote for a Democrat without becoming one much better than you understand why some decide not to do so without becoming a "Naderite," etc. It's the world view of people like you, John, et al. that is "black and white." I work with those who vote for Democrats for protests (including the Million Worker March), educational forums, etc., but people like you, John, etc. consider us to be "Nader's Traitors [!]," "left adventurists [!]," etc. against "the People's Front [!]" as John puts it (e.g., <http://mailman.lbo-talk.org/pipermail/lbo-talk/Week-of-Mon-20040503/009786.html>). I suppose that you can't see any problem in your own world view.
In any case, my point is that a person who thinks that he has "no other choice" but to join the ISO because that's "the only game in town" [!] when it comes to college campuses, even though the ISO must have had only about 500-800 members nationwide then, must have a very hard time not joining the Democratic Party in a trade union context. -- Yoshie
