Who sets and enforces the rules for "independent arbitration boards," whatever those are?

And the balance of your post is rank personal opinion. It's also entirely within your (or anybody's) rights to set your life up that way. But getting married, in the absence of such special arrangements, simply works the other way.

And while we're on this, has anybody noticed the lowness of all the Schiavo parties, including the holy Terri herself? The woman gave herself a heart attack from diet pills, for God's sake! A plague on all their houses!
