"OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada's left-leaning New
Democrats dismissed the idea on Saturday of creating
an informal coalition with the beleaguered minority
Liberal government, saying they were only prepared to
talk about backing Prime Minister Paul Martin's
budget.	 

Martin's fortunes have been in free fall since an
inquiry into a cash-for-favors scandal heard two weeks
ago that Liberals in French-speaking Quebec had
demanded big kickbacks from advertising firms in
return for government contracts...."
