This is so true. People look for what will fulfill their ideological preconceptions. It's why I can't stand John Pilger. Every developing country is an eternal vale of tears, except where governments Pilger likes are in power. There, everything is great. If China is a socialist country, then when leftist journalist goes there, he/she sees only successes. If China becomes capitalist, the same journalist sees only failures. (This works the other way around for the right, of course.)
