Was the story true that the Serbs "tuned" microwave ovens to simulate the signals given off by tanks?

The story, as I recall, is that the ovens were 'mistaken' by HARM missiles -- <http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/agm-88.htm> -- as mobile radio and radar installations (the HARM's sensors are tuned to detect electromagnetic emissions within a certain MHz range that, as it happens, matches not only military but civilian microwave devices so no tuning was needed).
But as to the truth of this story (which seems very plausible to me)...
I did a Google search for HARM + microwave oven and got many results.

Some interesting details but really no way to know for sure it seems.
But if it is true, yet another example of a hack that exploits a complex system's brittleness through an elegantly simple means.
