Alas no, LI seems doomed to stay the land of happy petite bourgies as long 
as there's a gravity-defying housing market to prop up the 
building-trades/home-decor-retailing complex out here.

Taste-wise, OTOH, LI remains a cautionary lesson re the dictatorship of the 
proletariat.
