I suspect that American leftists have lost interest in Russia. Not a SINGLE submission on any aspect of contemporary Russia's politics, economy, culture, etc. has come in for MRZine.org since 14 July 2005. You look at WSWS.org, International Socialist Review, International Viewpoint, CounterPunch, New Left Review, In These Times, The Nation, etc., and you see only a few that analyze Russia in depth (and those few look like special interest items, rather than the most read and emailed articles in their respective publications). If it weren't for Chris and Peter here, there probably would be a LBO-talk thread on Russia today at most once a year or maybe none at all in some years (I'm not counting Michael Pugliese's postings on Stalin, etc.).
