Who wrote this racist crap? I do wish posters would always identify the post they are quoting. I'm 80 pages into Clarissa, only 1420 pp. to go, and I don't have time to read most of the posts on lbo now. Richardson is great -- and I feel ashamed I didn't read this 40 years ago.
