Japan to invest in HCM City monorail

Japan's Marubenni Company is drafting investment report for a 13.6km monorail route in HCM City.
According to HCM City Department of Planning and Investment, the monorail route will run from Ben Thanh to Ham Nghi, Ton Duc Thang, Hai Ba Trung, Phan Dinh Phung, Nguyen Kiem, Nguyen Anh to National Highway 1A in District 12.
Total capital for the project is estimated at US$474 mil, not including compensation for site clearance, which is around $4.96-5.47 mil.
The department has proposed building the monorail underground at Hai Ba Trung, Phan Dinh Phung, and Nguyen Kiem sections and overhead for the remaining sections.
