I'd add to it Spinrad's "Little Heroes (a little _too_ wordy and a bit too sentimental for the Holy Family of Sex, Drugs, Rock'n'Rol, and high tech as the Great Emancipators, but still interesting in places), and Mick Resnick's collection of short stories gathered under the title "Kirinyaga" for the effects of modern technology on traditional (or, in the stories' case, neo-traditional) culture.
I'm reading Dispossesd right now, and I find it really interesting that someone else agrees with me that Shevek's society seems more properly described as communist than anarchist.
I liked "Freedom and Necessity". I'll have to re-read it sometime. Emma Bull is equally a good read in the "Border Series" of short stories.
