The common sense of many Americans:

1) Marriage is between a man & a woman, and sex between members of the same sex is at worst a sin, and at best, icky.

2) America is the greatest country in the world, and everyone else either envies or resents us.

3) Class differences don't really exist here, like in the Old World.

4) Foreign aid is one of the biggest parts of the federal budget.

5) Poverty is the result of laziness or moral weakness.

6) Black people, well, you know, there's just something wrong with them.

Etc.
