Needless to say, I did not say "the worse the better." And I while I confess ignorance about almost everything, a function of having had to give up reading about most things and workimg excessively long hours, as well as being an American, and therefore by definition an ethnocentric fool, I am glad to learn from Ulhas that the AIDS epidemic in Africa and Southeast Asia is a myth, that the world is not wracked by war, that polization of wealth ideologies is diminishing, that global warming is not a problem, that the international working class is strong and united outside my country, and that things are generally coming up roses. It's only the US that is going down the toilet, but we can rejoice because American workers are overfed pigs who have bataned too long on the vitals of poor people abroad, so it is only just that they should live as people used to in the slum of Rio -=- excuse me, as people used to in the former slums of Rio. Cyanide, Ian? I guess I am too pessimistic and do not see that the dawn is breaking all around us. Explain to me the basis for hope I am missing. jks
