This obsession with PROMIS and INSLAW and all that struck me as nutty the first time around, and it seems even nuttier all these years later. What is so hot about a single piece of software? There must be thousands, scores of thousands, of programmers who could whip up the equivalent. It's not the holy fucking grail, for heaven's sake.
