U.N. TRILLION DOLLAR TAX ON U.S. CITIZENS PROPOSED "A Most Unpatriotic Assault on Americans" --Kincaid
WASHINGTON, DC (July 4, 2005) - As the Group of Eight most industrialized nations prepares to meet in Gleneagles, Scotland, July 6-8, a leading public policy group concerned with U.N. matters is warning of a foreign plot to impose global taxes on American citizens.
America's Survival. Inc., headed by veteran journalist Cliff Kincaid, has produced a new report that cites documentary evidence that U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan and several key U.N. members, including France, are promoting a global tax plan to funnel tens of billions of dollars in new foreign aid to bankrupt socialist regimes.
The report, "Smoking Gun: Shocking Truth Uncovered About U.N. Taxation Plan," was released July 4, 2005 and posted at the America's Survival. Inc. web site, www.usasurvival.org
Kincaid concurs with various reports indicating French President Chirac has agreed that France and Germany would push for an international tax on airline tickets at the G8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland. The windfall funds are earmarked to fight poverty and AIDS.
"It's at Gleneagles that the success or failure of the United Nations summit on realizing the Millennium goals will be decided," Chirac said, referring to the September 14-16, 2005, summit being planned by the U.N. in New York to "review progress in fulfillment of commitments" contained in the U.N. Millennium Declaration.
Said Kincaid, "The tax on international airline travelers, once proposed by former U.N. Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, is the model for what is coming in September. The end result will be more pressure on the U.S. for tens of billions of dollars in more foreign aid. In fact, U.N. pressure is building for imposing massive global taxes on the U.S."
Kincaid's new report says that, in violation of the "Helms-Biden" U.N. "reform" law, which was passed by the U.S. Congress to prohibit the world body from promoting or adopting international taxes, the U.N. has prepared a book, New Sources of Development Finance, advocating global environmental taxes and a global currency tax that would affect the international investments of ordinary Americans.
An adviser to Annan says the U.S. is obligated to pay $845 billion over and above what the U.S. is already spending on foreign aid.
