There is was in interesting long profile of the Plame prosecutor in the weekend FT, apropos the long criminal complaint he just handed in against Chicago's Mayor Daley, and the impending trial of ex-Governor Ryan:

It reconfirms what Justin has been saying all along: the only criticism anyone has ever made of this guy is that he might be too zealous, and that his definition of crimes might be too "amorphous and wide ranging."

He certainly does does not seem like someone who would allow his quarry to escape on a technicality. And he has shown an amazing ability to burn up through the chain of command. The scandal that brought down Governor Ryan -- the highest Republican in his state -- started out with low-level employees selling drivers' licenses. It took him five years, but he followed it all the way up to the governor. And in this case, he's starting much closer to the top.

It doesn't make anything certain, but it is kind of a cheery prospect. And it could come like a bolt. The last thing he's famous for is gnomic-ness. So they could be sure nothing was going to come of this until the very last moment. And then be facing 50 pages like Daley is now.
