Depends on what you mean by free market. If you mean the religious faith that economists have in its rationality and efficiency, sure. But if you mean capitalism, I'm not so sure. Capitalism more or less delivers the goods for a lot of people, and it's entirely rational for them to be cautious about a leap into the unknown.
