You might say that was a most ungenerous reading of 'FT NOT LEFT'. So let me re-phrase it: people who write and edit FT, NOT LEFT. We are talking about a group of people who think Jacque Chirac and George Soros are rocking in the free world.

No shit, really? Like give me a name or two, I might know them. And I can tell you how left they are (not having to go even as far as CP let alone the stuff you cite). Or are you talking about the rad reds who make the tea and sweep the floor or something?

I don't see the connection. You can find that disdain at lots of British publications. Most of it is simply utter awe combined with near total ignorance of the empire that took over control of the world from them.
