True. But the number who dislike him or who don't care add up to numbers which shoul give us hope.

It depends who you are talking to. When I talk about Kansas City, I mean the metropolitan area. Since I'm talking to an international list, I assume that most fo you don't care about the many towns and suburbs tat make up Kansas City.

You are wrong about the reasons why the suburbs spread to Kansas. The suburbs here in Johnson County have exploded over the course of 50 years because of racism. The existence of a state line running through the metropolitan area, combined with redlining and restrictive covenants, meant that many whites fled Kansas City, Mo. for the Kansas suburbs. So it's really about race and schools. In the 20th century, the Shawnee Mission school district was seen as much better than the Kansas City district.

Kansas City is a fucked up place in many other ways. The worst traffic is out here on the south side of town, with many of the working class commuting from Missouri to work at offices and service jobs in Johnson County. The amount of wealth around here is amazing. I live a few blocks away from the posh subdivision of Hallbrook, which was built on land owned by the Hall Family (Hallmark Cards). The mansions of Hallbrook typically run $500,000 and on up. Joe Montana lived over there for a while, as do other celebrities.

In other years, the Democrats usually win at least 3-4 counties in Kansas. Back during Perot's run, he won more counties in Kansas than in most other states.
