Agree with Jim. Where things are hot, the reds scare the whites to make deald with the pinks. This is the result documented at great length by Adam Przezworski in Paper Stones and Capitalism and Social Democracy. When things are quiescent, the pinks lose ground and the reds become marginalized and irrelevant. That's oure situation, no point in finger pointing. Like Doug, I'm a pink with big red stripe. jks
