This is way too big to be described as khuligany. Khuligany are like groups of five or six skinheads beating up somebody. "Pogrom" means mass, mob grassroots violence, like the Moscow soccer riot in 2001 or the present riots in France.

Etymology: Grom = thunder (noun) Gromit' = to thunder (verb) Pogromit' = to engage in mass violence Pogromshchik = participant in mass violence
