at end of day, when all is said and done, when things run their course, etc., 2 issues stand out for presidents - economy & military ('core imperatives' defined, ultimately, by corporate and 'defense' elites), neither of which seem to be going partcularly well for current prez, neither at which current prez appears to have developed much skill, both of which *can* be good examples of expectations/delivery dilemma, both of which also are good examples of how luck is important factor in perceived prez success... michael hoover
